Description
Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Ky., and Casey County Hospital in Liberty, Ky., has a full-time position available for the Director of Quality Improvement. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and requires the successful candidate to work at both facilities. It is detailed as follows:
JOB SUMMARY
Provides direction to medical staff departments and committees, department directors and supervisors in the development and implementation of quality activities. Analyzes information generated by internal sources and outside agencies and disseminates the information to the appropriate committees and individuals.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supervises the implementation of the Quality Improvement Program
* Provides direction to the medical staff departments and committees and hospital services and committees in the development of the activities to maintain and improve the quality and safety of the hospital
* Analyzes and disseminates information provided by internal sources and external agencies
* Makes recommendations to appropriate departments for evaluation studies and clinical monitors
* Manages and supervises the Quality Improvement department and personnel to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency
* Provides recommendations for quality improvement activities to achieve goals
* Develops the annual Quality Improvement Plan to ensure compliance of state, federal and The Joint Commission regulations and standards
*Attends appropriate programs presented by the hospital and participates in outside seminars and meetings when appropriate
* Provides assistance and consultation to other departments in the development of appropriate monitors
* Collects and submits findings of clinical quality measures to the Kentucky Hospital Association to comply with HRIP and FLEX programs
* Maintains a current provider list for the 340B program vendor
* Submits a list of acute and observation admissions monthly to HCAHPS vendor
* Conducts Quality Improvement Committee meetings and serves on Safety Committee
* Serves as and performs duties of HIPAA Compliance Officer
* Is responsible for collecting and maintaining credentialing documents on all categories of Medical staff as defined in the Medical Bylaws and for submitting this information for medical staff approval and governing body approval
* Prepares and submits responses to any CMS or TJC citations
* Consults with Electronic Health Record Director to develop reports for reporting requirements and data collection
* Prepares and submits Quality Improvement data to Governing Body quarterly and prepares and submits the annual Quality Improvement evaluation.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Excellent communication skills
* Proficiency in using WORD and EXCEL programs
* Knowledge of state, federal and The Joint Commission regulations and standards
* Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
* Familiarity with hospital operations
WORKING CONDITIONS
* Provision of comfortable, well-lit office environment with adequate equipment and provisions for privacy
* Physical demands: minimal physical exertion, with no risks or hazards
