Job Summary:

Marketing and Public Relations:

 Responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of the Organization’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. Oversee development and implementation of support materials and services for chapters in the area of marketing, communications and public relations. Direct the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations staff and coordinate at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing and Public Relations:

* Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance the Organization’s image and position within the marketplace and general public, and facilitate internal and external communications; and, all Organization marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials including publications, medical relations, client acquisition, and so forth.

* Ensure articulation of Organization’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the communities we serve.

* Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all Organization publications, including the websites.

* Coordinate media interest in the Organization and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.

* Serve as the Organization’s representative with the media.

* Coordinate the appearance of all Organization print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.

* Develop, coordinate and oversee programs, technical assistance and resource materials.

* Ensure that the Organization regularly conducts relevant market research and coordinate and oversee this activity.

* Coordinate and assist the CEO with public appearances, including Power Point presentations, as well as arranging for other dignitaries to be present if necessary to achieve the objectives of the Organization.

* Lead projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events. Planning and budgeting.

* Responsible for the achievement marketing/communications/public relations mission, goals and financial objectives.

* Develop short- and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing/communications/public relations program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.

* Keep informed of developments in the field of marketing, communications, and public relations.

* Responsible for coordinating the hospital’s annual health fair.

* Responsible for coordinating any hospital-wide functions as directed by the CEO.

* Represents the hospitals on the Region 10 HRSA Homeland Security Directors Committee.

* Serves as the hospital’s contact for the NIMS (National Incident Management System).

* Writes and applies for grant funding for the hospital.

* Files appropriate applications for State and Federal projects, as funding is available.

* Responsible for updating and maintaining the EM Resource Database for the hospital.

* Responsible for direction of the Hospital’s Risk Management Program, including incident reports, maintaining permanent files, and work with the Hospital’s legal counsel on any risk management issues. Responsible for keeping the CEO advised and updated on any risk management issues.

Minimum Education, Training & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in marketing, health care administration/communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit or association sector. Graduate degree in a related field is desirable. Experience working with volunteers is desirable.

Skills & Abilities:

Position requires self-motivation and ability to function independently. Must be able to work well with people at all levels. Must possess a willingness to learn and excellent management and organizational skills. Must be proficient in operating a personal computer.

Working Conditions:

Generally pleasant environment. Must be able to work odd hours in order to meet deadlines. Must be able to travel.
